This course focuses on the practice, processes and goals of spiritual formation (the ordinary maturing of one’s relationship with Abba God) in the life of the Christian minister, counselor leader or layperson from a multi-disciplinary viewpoint including personal, biblical, theological, psychological, and historical perspectives. The student will have a practical experience with the historic disciplines and practices of the Christian faith that promote intimacy with God and Christ-likeness in character with the goal of fostering ongoing personal vitality essential to ministry and the ability to facilitate spiritual renewal and consistent discipleship in others – impacting the marketplace. This interactive course invites the student to practice foundational spiritually formative practices such as Lectio Divina, Silence, Prayers, Journaling, Solitude designed to foster a Christ-like transformational journey.
